Webuzo System Application Updated

We have updated Apache and Apache2 (2.4) and have added necessary changes to prevent SlowLoris attack. We have also compiled both the version with Mod_Security. Users can load the module and use it as per their own requirement.

We highly recommend that all users update their Apache webserver to this latest release.

Webuzo 2.6.2 Launched

The Webuzo Team has released Webuzo 2.6.2. This version introduces some major features and fixes. The following is a list of changes :

1) [Feature] Support for HTTP/2 added in Apache 2.4 and Nginx. Existing users will have to update application to the latest version to enable it.

2) [Feature] Support for GZIP added in all webserver. Existing users will have to update application to the latest version to enable it.

3) [Feature] You can now schedule Webuzo backups from the panel itself.

4) [Feature] You can now choose to use Let’s Encrypt certificate for Webuzo panel while installing a new certificate from the utility.

5) [Task] GZIP for Webuzo panel will now be enabled for all existing installation.

6) [Fix] Script auto-upgrade did not work. This is now fixed.

Webuzo 2.6.1 Launched

The Webuzo Team has released Webuzo 2.6.1. The following is a list of changes :

1) [Security] All the third party applications like phpMyAdmin, Squirrel, RockMongo will now run with unprivileged user only.

2) [Fix] MonstaFTP was removed in the previous version but the link remained in the Webuzo Dashboard. The same is now removed.

Webuzo 2.5.8 Launched

The Webuzo Team has released Webuzo 2.5.8. This version introduces some major features and fixes. The following is a list of changes :

1) [Feature] We have added a CLI based utility to reset MySQL root password.

2) [Feature] You can now set a custom time for automated backups of scripts while installing.

3) [Task] Auto-upgrade utility will now delete backups files of older version created by itself previously.

4) [Fix] Clone utility did not work after updating to the last version. This is now fixed.

5) [Fix] Custom DNS records were not saved permanently in the panel and were deleted after system wide changes. This is now fixed.

6) [Fix] htaccess rules for files with PHP extension did not work with Apache 2.4 and PHP-FPM. This is now fixed.

The Webuzo Team has released Webuzo 2.5.7. This version introduces some major performance and security features. The following is a list of changes :

1) [Feature] You can now run PHP FPM along with Apache 2.4 using FastCGI.

2) [Feature] Option added to enable/disable Fast CGI for Apache 2.4 in Apache Settings page.

3) [Feature] Added option to backup script installations on remote server via FTP. Endusers can add multiple remote backup locations and choose the preferred location.

4) [Task] cPanel importer is now stable and out of Beta.

5) [Task] Installed SSL certificates will now also be listed in create SSL certificate page.

6) [Task] Improved the Cloning process by pushing it in background to avoid timeout.

7) [Task] Added ‘pre_addcron’ and ‘post_addcron’ filters. Guide for the same is available here.

8) [Task] Added “Sync installations list with Webuzo Records” setting in the Admin Panel so if the installation directory does not exist, it will be automatically removed from the records.

9) [Task] Added “Detect and update actual version of installations” setting in the Admin Panel so if the user has manually updated their installation the correct version will be updated in the records via CRON.

10) [Task] List of SSL Cipher Suite has been updated*.

11) [Task] Browsers will now be forced to use server’s ciphers over their own*.

12) [Task] Webservers will now create and use a Diffie Hellman key to verify client certificates and prevent logjam vulnerability*.

13) [Task] Server signature is now turned off in all webserver and PHP versions*.

14) [Fix] RewriteURL did not work if the default webserver was Apcahe 2.4. This is now fixed*.

*PHP and Webservers will need to be updated to the latest for these to take effect.

Webuzo 2.5.6 Launched

The Webuzo Team has released Webuzo 2.5.6. This version introduces a minor bug fix. The following is a list of change :

1) [Fix] Webuzo Backup and Restore threw MySQL/Exim not installed error if the application was installed for the first time on the machine after updating to 2.5.5. This is now fixed.

We have updated phpMyAdmin to 4.6.6 in MySQL 5.5, MySQL 5.6, MariaDB 5.5, MariaDB 10, MariaDB 10.1 and Percona 5.5 packages.

The blowfish secret length is also increased to 32 in this latest update.
