Complaint about Retailer (US)
In the event an ESRB Retail Council (ERC) member in the United States has sold or rented
an M (Mature) or AO (Adults Only) rated computer or video game to a customer under
the age of 17 or 18 respectively without permission from their parent or guardian,
the parent or guardian can speak to the manager of the store for a full refund or
an exchange for an age-appropriate game. If the parent or guardian cannot resolve
the issue at the store level, then a complaint can be filed with the ESRB by providing
as much of the information listed below as possible and clicking the submit button.
ESRB will forward the complaint to the corporate office of the ERC retail member
for prompt handling.
Complaint about Retailer (Canada)
In the event a Retail Council of Canada member participating in the Commitment to Parents
program has sold or rented an M (Mature) or AO (Adults Only) rated computer or video
game to a customer under the age of 17 or 18 respectively without permission from
their parent or guardian or not complied with other aspects of the RCC Code, the parent or guardian should first speak to the
manager of the store. If the parent or guardian cannot resolve the issue at the
store level, then a complaint can be filed with the ESRB by providing as much of
the information listed below as possible and clicking the submit button. ESRB will
forward the complaint to the RCC for prompt handling.
