Why did you enter YouTube NextUp?

YouTube sends out regular newsletters on the latest happenings in and around the space and I came across the YouTube NextUp newsletter which I was super excited about. I remember the first batch of recruits like MissGlamorazzi & Chesacaleigh being part of NextUp way back when and the amount of opportunities that they received from it and so I took a chance and applied. I entered NextUp for more advancement opportunities and also for the valuable skills of video production and editing.

What was your favorite part of the YouTube NextUp experience?

I definitely loved the video production classes and the Studio design classes. My overall goal is to take my video quality and aesthetic to the next level and those classes helped a great deal.

How did YouTube NextUp help you prepare for the future?

NextUp helped me to prepare for the future by advising me to create both vlog-style videos and well-crafted videos in order to take pressure off of me while showing my viewers a personal side.

What advice would you give to up-and-coming Creators interested in NextUp?

My advice to upcoming NextUp Creators is to go for it! You never what opportunities can arise why you TRY!

How has NextUp impacted your channel's growth?

I didn't really find it to impact my growth much however, I feel that I get approached by more companies than I used to.

Why did you enter YouTube NextUp?

I started my YouTube channel as I looked up one YouTuber. I saw the video when he joined previous NextUp and thought I would be in it like him, so waited for the opportunity.

What was your favorite part of the YouTube NextUp experience?

Collaboration. NextUp offered me the first experience product with a big group. I have done with collaboration with two creators so far. The production quality is improved compared to when I do by myself. Above all, it was the best learning and impressive part that I could have a chance to see how others edit and manage the production. Thanks for NextUp, I hove to do collaboration or join the project, and now sometimes I feel boring with production by myself even.

How did YouTube NextUp help you prepare for the future?

I am not sure about the future, however, I feel myself as YouTuber and Creator stronger than before I joined the NextUp. I can not explain well, but I feel that I am more professional.

What advice would you give to up-and-coming Creators interested in NextUp?

4 days are much shorter than expectation. However, please try to have a good relationship and be a friends with others. It would be connected to everything later.

How has NextUp impacted your channel's growth?

Thanks for the support of NextUp, I could purchase production equipments that I wanted. I feel It improved the production quality which connected to whole of my channel quality. I guess it has been bring the tremendous subscription growth for these several month during the NextUp!

Why did you enter YouTube NextUp?

We applied to Next Up because we wanted to learn, connect with other creators and grow. After a few years of plugging away, week after week, video after video, it felt like we’d reached a plateau in what we could teach ourselves. We saw Next Up as a chance to directly ask YouTube the hundreds of questions we had about every aspect of production and get some tailored feedback on our channel.

What was your favorite part of the YouTube NextUp experience?

The hands-on aspect was great. The course was organized by skill-sharing sessions, in which we would get lessons from experts about lighting, audio, and so on, then try it out ourselves. It was super fun, and very practical. It both made us feel more confident as well as showed us what we had to learn. And of course, connecting with the other Next Up grads has positioned us well for future collaborations and friendships.

How did YouTube NextUp help you prepare for the future?

On our YouTube journey, Next Up was a crucial calibration of our compass. It was a week to put a pause on our normal work, take stock of what we were doing well / not so well, and to chart a course for the future. Direct, honest, expert feedback is hard to come by in this world, and Next Up definitely delivered.

What advice would you give to up-and-coming Creators interested in NextUp?

Come to Next Up with big ideas and an open mind. You can only fill an empty cup, so set aside what you think you know and use the opportunity to gather as much constructive criticism as you can. And bring a journal, because the experience will generate a lot of ideas for future projects.

How has NextUp impacted your channel's growth?

It seems like our channel has grown a lot since Next Up. We applied with around 90,000 subs, and a few months later we are at 120,000. It’s hard to say how much growth came directly from NextUp, but the lessons we learned will continue to positively impact the content we produce, which in turn is guaranteed to draw more subscribers down the road.
