We're always working to resolve problems that pop up on YouTube. If your problem is listed below, we're aware of the issue and are working to fix it as soon as possible. If your problem isn't listed below, learn how you can report an issue.
Watch videos
Subscriptions status not updating immediately
You may be experiencing an issue where, sometimes, your subscription status isn't updated right away on your Subscriptions list, watch pages, and channel pages:
- When you subscribe to a channel, it might look like you haven't subscribed yet because the Subscribe button stays red for a few minutes, instead of changing to gray right away to confirm you have subscribed.
- When you unsubscribed from a channel, it might seem like you're still subscribed because the Subscribe button stays gray for a few minutes, instead of changing to red right away to confirm you have unsubscribed.
We're aware of this issue and are working to make the subscription status change right away in all cases.
Licensing error message on a smart TV
You may receive an error message when attempting to watch movies and TV shows on some smart TVs:
- Smart TVs and Blu-Ray players made in 2013 or later
While we work to resolve this issue, we recommend watching your movie or TV show on your computer, or on another supported device. If you're not able to watch on another device, you may request a refund by contacting our support team.
Issues on Samsung TV
Getting logged out on Samsung TV
You may have noticed that you get logged out of your Google account on your Samsung TV. We are working with Samsung to get this issue fixed. You can help by reporting the issue directly to Samsung. To do so, please go into your TV's Menu, then Support > Contact Samsung. Thank you for your patience.
Performance problems
You may have experienced general performance or stability problems with the YouTube app on your Samsung TV. We are working with Samsung to get this issue fixed. Collections are no longer available
The Collections feature was removed on May 26, 2015. We'll continue to focus on other efforts to make your subscriptions even more enjoyable.
Create videos and manage your channel
Subscriber count changing or dropping
Generally, it's normal to see fluctuations in your subscriber count. If it seems that your subscriber count has changed or dropped, it could be for one of these reasons:
- Viewers are subscribing and unsubscribing to your channel normally. If a user unsubscribes and then re-subscribes to your channel, they need to reset their notifications. Otherwise, they may not see new content from your channel in their email or YouTube feed.
- We've removed spam subscribers from your channel.
If subscriber changes seem like they're outside the normal fluctuation rate, it could be due to a known issue. If you believe you're experiencing a problem outside the normal rate of subscriber count fluctuations, you can report an issue.
Changes to comment counts
You may currently be experiencing an issue where the comment count on a video's watch page is different from what you see in YouTube Analytics. We're updating our systems to ensure consistency, so the numbers may have recently changed for you.
Rest assured that even if your comment count has decreased, no comments have been deleted. YouTube never deletes comments unless they violate our rules for spam or other policies listed in the Community Guidelines.
What's the correct comment count?
In the watch page, the actual comments loading on the page is the accurate number. The number that you see listed above the comments field on a video's watch page may not currently be accurate.
Fluctuations in video revenue
If you're seeing fluctuations in your revenue, it may be because we’re fine tuning our ads systems.
Because advertiser confidence on YouTube is critical to the financial success of creators, we began implementing new brand safety controls starting the week of March 27, 2017. These changes address feedback from advertisers around ads running on content they feel does not align with their brand, which is outlined in the YouTube Creator Blog.
What you can do:
- If you're seeing a drop in revenue from videos that are monetized, review your videos’ thumbnails, titles, and descriptions to make sure that they a) accurately represent the content in your video and b) are aligned with our advertiser-friendly content guidelines.
- If you think your video was demonetized in error, request an appeal by clicking the yellow $ icon next to the video in Video Manager. You'll be notified once a decision is made on the appeal and, if it is successful, your video will immediately be monetized again and have a green $ icon.

Sign-in issues on PlayStation 4
Missing subscriptions, playlists, and uploads on iOS
If you can’t see your subscriptions, playlists, or uploads on your iOS device, try signing out of your YouTube account and signing back in.
Sign out
- Tap your account photo .
- Tap Switch account
- Tap Use YouTube signed out.
You'll see a brief notification at the bottom of the screen that lets you know you have signed out of the app.
Sign in
- Tap Account .
- Tap Sign in
- Select an existing account, or tap on to Add Account to add a new account to your device.
YouTube Partner Program
AdSense only allows you to sign up with your default Google Account
We're aware that the AdSense signup flow doesn't currently allow publishers to switch between multiple Google Accounts. We're working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you can use the workaround steps below.
This issue also affects YouTube and Blogger publishers who want to associate their YouTube channel or Blogger account with AdSense. We recommend using the same Google Account for AdSense that you use with YouTube or Blogger.
I'm signing up on AdSense.com
Sign out of all accounts and sign back in
When signing up for AdSense, sign out of all Google Accounts and sign back in with the one that's linked to your existing AdSense account. Otherwise, AdSense will select your default Google Account for sign up.
- In a new browser tab, visit https://accounts.google.com/logout.
- Click Remove.
- Click X next to each Google Account you don't want to associate with AdSense. (Make sure you leave the one Google Account that you do want to associate with AdSense.)
- Click Done.
- Go back to the AdSense signup page.
- Click Create or use another account, and sign in to the Google Account that is linked to your existing AdSense account.
Sign in with Google Account that's linked to your AdSense account
Use these instructions to sign in directly to the Google Account associated with your AdSense account.
- Sign in to your YouTube account and go to www.youtube.com/account_monetization and start the steps to switch AdSense accounts.
- When you're at Step One of the linking process, copy the page's URL.
- Log out of your account and close your browser.
- Open a new browser and go to https://myaccount.google.com/. Sign in with the Google Account that's linked to your AdSense account.
- In a new tab, go to www.youtube.com, sign in to your YouTube channel.
- Open a new tab in the browser and paste the AdSense sign-up URL you previously copied.
- Complete the AdSense sign up flow. You should be able to switch to the correct AdSense account.
