Share Chrome with other people

You can have multiple people use Chrome on the same device, each with his or her own settings, bookmarks, and themes.

What others see when you share Chrome

Anyone using Chrome on a shared device can switch to or see other Chrome profiles. By switching profiles, they can also see information such as browsing history and websites you haven’t logged out of. That’s why we recommend only sharing your device with people you trust.

Add a person

Computer
  1. Sign in to Chrome.
  2. In the upper right corner of the browser window, click the button for the current user. It may show that person's name, email, or an icon like this Sign in.
  3. Click Switch Person.
  4. At the bottom of the window, click Add Person. If the new person signs in to Chrome with a Google Account, he or she will see synced bookmarks, apps, extensions, and other browsing data on the computer and will be able to sync any future changes.

Control what other people see online

If you want to control what other people are able to browse on the web, you can set up a supervised user account. This may be a good idea, for example, if you have children who share your computer.

To keep your Chrome settings, bookmarks, browsing history, and information private from supervised users, you can stay signed in and lock your browsing session profile.
