Get a custom URL for your Google+ profile
When you have a custom URL, you can give people a short, easy-to-remember web address to find your Google+ profile (like google.com/+LarryPage). it will be preassigned based on things like your name. And you may also need to add a few letters or numbers to make it unique to you.
Important: You can’t change your custom URL after you create it, so be sure you like yours before you finalize it.
Get a custom URL for your Google+ profile
Android app / Mobile browser / iPhone/iPad appIt’s easiest to use a computer to get your custom URL. Please use a computer instead of a mobile device.
- Open Google+.
- In the top left corner, click the drop-down menu
> click Profile.
- Under your photo and profile summary, click About.
- Scroll to “Links” section > find the header “Google+ URL > click Get URL.
- You’ll see the custom URLs you can choose from. You may also need to add a few letters or numbers to make it unique to you.
- Next to “I agree to the Terms of Service,” click the box > in the bottom left corner, click Change URL.
- You may be asked to verify your account using your mobile phone number. If you’re asked to do this:
- Type your mobile phone number > in the lower left corner, click Send code.
- Check your phone for the code that was sent to you.
- Enter that code in the box on your screen, then in the lower left corner, click Verify.
- When you’re ready to permanently add your URL to your profile, click Confirm choice.

You can’t change the words in your custom URL, but you can change which letters are capitalized or have accents.

- Sign in to Google+.
- In the top left corner, click the drop-down menu
- Under your photo and profile summary, click About.
- Scroll to “Links” section > find the header “Google+ URL" > click Edit.
- You’ll see a box where you can make edits to the formatting of your URL.
Rules for getting a custom URL
There are a few rules to keep in mind when you’re trying to get a custom URL. If you’re having trouble, make sure:
- You have ten or more followers (people who have added you to their circles)
- Your account is at least 30 days old
- Your profile has a profile photo
- Your account is in good standing
Note: Custom URLs must meet the Google+ User Content and Conduct Policy and the Google+ custom URLs terms of use. If you find a custom URL that doesn’t match our policies, please report the profile.
