Is it for me?
If you love speed and being out on the water this is the perfect activity for you either independently or with a friend. You may be tentative on the throttle to start with but you’ll soon for more comfortable and want to go faster.
How can I try it?
Lots of people try PWs on holiday but there are also plenty of places to have a go in the UK too.
Jetski Experience Safaris are a fantastic way to get a taste for the thrill of blasting across the water with other beginners under the guidance of an experienced instructor. You can also hire a PW from many watersport companies and they’ll have the gear you need to get on the water.
Although training is not compulsory, the RYA’s Personal Watercraft Course will give you all the skills to use a PW safely and with confidence. Having a qualification can also come in handy when skiing abroad, on restricted waters or to save money on insurance.
PW clubs are great ways to get out on the water, socialize with other ‘skiers’ and they welcome the whole family. Many offer courses too.
How much does it cost?
Although it can be expensive to buy a new PW, you can easily find a more affordable second-hand bargain. PW can be easily transported so if you do invest in your own, blasting across the water is waiting for you!
