RYA Zone Squads
If you are enjoying competing for your club at the Interclub events, you may be interested in applying for the RYA Windsurf Zone Squad. The regionally delivered squad involves a series of 6 weekend training camps held between November and June each year, including one residential camp. Training is for sailors on Techno boards, with sail sizes from 4.5m to 7.8m, with sailors usually between the ages of 10 and 15. Click here for more information on the RYA Zone Squads.
What’s next after T15: UKWA?
The UKWA (UK Windsurfing Association) are offering some great opportunities for Team15 sailors to participate more easily in their Regional Series Events and their Inland Series - and have some great fun in the process!
As well as participating in the racing, the TCA (Techno Class Association) are offering Team15 sailors the additional support of coaching at some of these events. Run by zone coaches, these fun coached events will help Team15 sailors to make the transition from T15 Interclub events to the next stage up as well as improving your skills along the way.
You can compete in UKWA events while you are part of Team15 but you can also continue to do so after Team15.
Open Training
The Techno Class Association (TCA) organise a series of training events nationwide, including a week long Summer Camp, which are aimed at T15 sailors. The sessions are designed to help improve your all-round windsurfing skills (not just racing skills) with the intention of making you a better sailor - and the added bonus is that you may just improve your ranking at the T15 Interclub events, for those that attend.
