Where: Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, Dorset
When:

  • Olympics - Racing from Sunday 29 July to Saturday 11 August
  • Paralympics – Racing from Saturday 1 September to Thursday 6 September

Who:

  • 16 sailors in 10 Olympic classes
  • 6 sailors in 3 Paralympic classes

Olympic classes:

  • Finn - single-handed heavyweight dinghy for men
  • Laser - single-handed dinghy for men
  • Laser Radial - single-handed dinghy for women
  • 470 Men – double-handed dinghy for men
  • 470 Women – double-handed dinghy for women
  • 49er - double handed high performance twin trapeze dinghy for men or women
  • Star- two-man keelboat.
  • Elliott 6.0m - three-woman keelboat (women’s match racing)
  • RS:X Men – windsurfer sailed by men using a 9.5m2  sail
  • RS:X Women - windsurfer sailed by women using 8.5m2 sails

Paralympic classes:

  • 2.4 Metre – one-person keelboat
  • SKUD 18 – two-person keelboat
  • Sonar – three-person keelboat
