Plymouth Argyle FC

Plymouth Argyle Football Club have been at the heart of the city since 1886.

Home Park, where Argyle play their npower League 2 games, is part of Plymouth's current and future centre for sports and leisure, sitting, as it does, alongside the Life Centre.

The Pilgrims - the club's nickname comes from the group which set off for the New World in 1620 and founded modern-day America - currently play in npower League 2, with home games taking place at 3pm on a Saturday and 7.45pm on a Tuesday.

Argyle, though, is much more than a place to simply watch football.

It prides itself as being a family-oriented club at the heart of the community, where supporters of all ages can enjoy match-days in a safe, friendly and fun environment.

The club boasts a Family Zone For All, which stages a wide variety of match-day activities for children: a soccer skills mini-arena; mini-climbing holds; basketball; and giant Jenga; as well as digital rowing and digital sports with Wii Fit and Wii Sport.

The Pilgrims have also opened their own bar inside the ground, the Argyle Arms, which opens at 12.30pm and where supporters can enjoy a drink with friends and watch the lunchtime televised game in convivial surroundings whilst soaking up the pre-match atmosphere.
