Recognising young people’s self-development

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a fantastic recognition of a young person’s self-development through team building, volunteering and learning new skills. UKSA is a DofE Approved Activity Provider.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards

We can deliver practice and qualifying expeditions in sailing, kayaking and walking for the Bronze and Silver Awards. We also have the facilities required to deliver Gold Residential programmes. Our Opportunities Afloat course could form your Gold Residential programme.

We can provide all this for visiting schools and groups but we also have our own local group that meets at UKSA on Wednesday evenings. DofE supervisors run all our sessions.

Skills for work and life

The DofE programme is designed to give young people aged 14-25 the chance to develop skills for work and life. The scheme encourages commitment and determination, fosters a spirit of adventure and develops their ability to work well with others. The award is highly regarded by employers and further education establishments.
