Professional training at UKSA

Achieve your ambitions

We offer a huge range of professional training courses here at UKSA. Whether you’re just starting out, looking for a career change, or you’re an experienced seafarer wanting to progress your career, we’ve got something for everyone.

We offer structured career paths and training routes in yachtingengineeringhospitality, watersports and more. We are also one of the largest providers of MCA courses in the entire yachting industry.

At UKSA our core purpose is to create transformational opportunities for every person that comes through our doors. We believe in offering more than the syllabus and exam passes; we aim to ensure that you achieve your personal best, putting you in the best position possible at the end of your training to be successful in your chosen career.

Get personal development

Choose UKSA for your professional training and you’ll also get mentoring, guidance, industry knowledge and wide-ranging support. For example, as part of your course you could attend sessions on how to write an appropriate CV, the types of jobs available and how to find them.

You’ll live on site, with food and accommodation provided*, enabling you to build strong relationships and concentrate fully on your course.

We don’t close our doors when classes end for the day. You’ll have access to study rooms and facilities after teaching hours if you need, to help you get the most out of your course, and your instructors can often be found around site when they’re not teaching.

Gain access to employers

You’ll get access to our online recruitment service, exclusively for our career-training students. Here you’ll be able to apply for some of the hundreds of jobs that we deal with every year, and employers can view your profile and contact you directly.

You’ll also benefit from the strong network of over 1,500 employers that we’ve spent 25 years building. They work with us to offer our students employment and placements in the yachting industry. We also run a regular programme of talks by industry professionals and crew agents, so you’ll get the chance to meet potential employers face-to-face.

Top quality teaching at great value

The wealth of industry experience from our teaching staff is second to none; we have some of the most highly regarded people in the industry teaching our students. We have an impressive fleet, dedicated marine engineering workshops, lecture rooms, resource areas and the best training locations on our doorstep.

So come to one of our regular open days to see the facilities and site and to meet the team.

*There are always a few exceptions to the rule, check the individual course page to confirm if your course is residential or non-residential.
