UKSA has an exemplary safety record. With thousands of children visiting us every year, safety is our priority in everything we do.

From secure accommodation blocks to safety equipment for activities on the water, we provide a safe learning environment for everyone to enjoy. We work hard to safeguard our students and visitors and we regularly review our systems to ensure they are robust and compliant.

Safety on the water

  • Fully qualified instructors
  • Low 1:6 instructor-to-student ratio
  • Well maintained kit and safety equipment
  • Buoyancy aids checked before each water-based session
  • First aid trained instructors
  • Radio communication with the shore
  • Rescue craft on standby

Safety off the water

  • 3.5-acre campus with perimeter fences and secure front gates
  • Only essential vehicles are permitted on site
  • 5mph speed limit on site
  • CCTV monitored around the clock
  • Duty supervisor to support teachers and leaders at night
  • Self-contained dormitories with coded door access
  • Fire safety briefings on arrival
