In 1992 HRH The Princess Royal became our Patron.

“Over the years UKSA has changed the lives of many individuals through maritime education and on-the-water activities. Personal development, improved self-esteem, broadened horizons and fulfilling maritime careers are just some of the outcomes.

This experience gives the charity a solid and proven platform on which to move forward with an ambitious but achievable plan to reach even more young people. This includes outdoor activity programmes, training for employment, intervention programmes, informal learning and sporting excellence initiatives. For UKSA this is a considerable challenge and cannot be achieved alone. Support will be needed from it’s alumni, partners, donors, friends and volunteers to raise funds, increase it’s charity profile  and reach more young people who, with help and encouragement, are given the opportunities they all deserve.

As Patron of UKSA, I look forward to seeing the charity grow even further as it continues to work towards achieving its charitable objectives. ”
