Financial support from the Royal Merchant Navy Education Foundation

The Royal Merchant Navy Education Foundation can contribute towards funding young people in need, both during their education and in obtaining a professional career-entry qualification.

To be eligible for consideration, the young people must be in financial need and with British nationality, plus have one parent who has served at sea in any capacity in the Merchant Navy, or as a professional fisherman or in the RNLI.

In particular, the Foundation’s support may be available to those applying for UKSA’s flagship Superyacht Cadetship course (2015 intake), as well as the Foundation Degree element.

This support is available to those who have been unable to obtain funding elsewhere for their Cadetship as much as to those who have been partly successful.

Applicants should first speak to course advisors at UKSA before applying to the Foundation.
