RYA Winter Match Racing

The Winter Match Racing Programme is held at RYA Portland House/Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.
It’s both competition and training, with coaches and a full umpire team at every event. Evening training sessions are held at Portland House.
The cost per person including two nights’ accommodation and food will be confirmed in the NOR.
• Teams can consist of 3 or 4 sailors weighing no more than 250kgs in total.
• All skipper and crew must be aged 18 or over on the first day of the event, unless accepted by the OA in exceptional circumstances.
• Skippers must be members of the RYA.

Big Lash

Hosted by Liverpool (fixing the sailing) and Manchester (fixing the socials).

“Last year we hosted 24 teams making The Big Lash one of the largest University events in the country, and much enjoyed by all who attended – both on and off the water! This year we’re expanding it to hopefully get some of those teams stuck on the waiting list last year attending with an extra flight of fireflies!

“Discounted entries of £260 available to teams who enter by 31st of January 2016; entries will be £300 thereafter (nb amended date).

London Duck

The London Duck is hosted by University of London Sailing Club at Welsh Harp Sailing Club on the Welsh Harp Reservoir (near Wembley Stadium and Brent Cross Shopping Centre).

It will be sailed in Fireflies. We have space for 16 teams, and the entry fee is £260, or £200 reduced entry for those who attended the Six Pack.

West London Fleets

West London Fleets is a casual fleet racing event open to all Universities to be held at Datchet Water Sailing Club in Slough. As the only casual fleet racing event solely hosted by a University, this is the perfect opportunity as training for the Nationals in November 2016.

Two days of racing for Fast, Slow, Firefly and Laser Classes. With space for 60 boats. Entry on a first come first served basis. Email your interest to West Londonl Fleets

Accommodation is available for the Friday and Saturday night, also on a first come first served basis. Please let us know if you require this.

There will two socials hosted, with the Saturday night in Central London! Come along for some great racing and mad nights out.

67th Wilson Trophy

The 67th Wilson Trophy, the British Open Team Racing Championships for the Wilson Trophy, will be held as usual at the West Kirby Sailing Club (CH48 3HZ) on the Marine Lake, This will incorporate the Twiname Trust Under-21 Wilson Trophy for teams with at least five members who are under 21.

The Notice of Race will be published towards the end of November, when further details will be available.

In the meantime, see the Wilson Trophy website and you will be able to follow the Wilson on Facebook.

The Old Joe

The Old Joe is back!

The University of Birmingham Sailing Club is pleased to announce the return of The Old Joe – our newly started university alumni and West Midlands team racing competition. The Old Joe will be held on the 11th and 12th June 2016 at South Staffordshire Sailing Club. As ever it will be competitive racing on Saturday and Sunday, and, of course, the great socials on Friday and Saturday.
