Omega 3 Pure EPA 1g was the first omega 3 supplement under the Informed-Sport accreditation program to offer such a pure and highly concentrated level of EPA.

Many sports nutritionists recommend that athletes obtain 2-3 grams of EPA daily. Each capsule delivers 1 gram of EPA providing the most convenient and efficient means of obtaining these expert recommended levels.

The benefits of the omega 3 fatty acids DHA and EPA are well understood, particularly for the joint role they play in providing support for normal heart and brain health*.

Omega 3 supplements have historically focused on providing a balanced level of these beneficial fatty acids, but increasingly experts in sports nutrition are suggesting that obtaining higher levels of EPA could be of greater importance. This is particularly true for high performance sports professionals and active individuals who are looking to aid recovery after intense periods of activity.

Each capsule also provides a minimum of 100mg DHA and is completed with the inclusion of a natural lemon flavoured capsule shell to increase palatability and reduce reflux.

Product Origins

The oil in this advanced supplement is sourced exclusively from warm water fish species, which contain a naturally higher concentration of EPA. This specific fish species is engraulis ringens of the anchovy genus. This small fish variety has been specifically selected as it possesses significantly lower levels of pollutants compared to larger fish. This can be attributed to the fact that smaller fish tend to be shorter lived so have less time to accumulate pollutants. In addition their diet consists of zooplankton and macrozooplankton rather than other fish which may already contain contaminants. The fish is sourced from the established clean region in fishing zone 87 off the coast of Peru.

Once harvested, the oil undergoes an extensive distillation process which produces a pure and highly concentrated fish oil. The purification system employed uses state of the art equipment, which is tightly controlled to ensure that the active omega 3 fatty acids receive no interference from other saturated or non-polyunsaturated fats. To maintain the quality of the active omega 3 we use a gentle separation technology which functions at mild temperatures.

The fish oil in our Pure EPA 1g product undergoes an "i-purification” process, using cutting-edge technology, which has such a high degree of precision it is also used for analytical purposes. This technology allows us to dictate the high level of purity and elevated concentration of EPA. The final product is an unrivalled fish oil with 1g of EPA per capsule.
