“I have long been aware of the many benefits accruing to young people through their participation in OYT Scotland activities. Personal growth, increased self awareness and self confidence, a sense of adventure and challenge are among the outcomes which can enrich their overall experience and positively influence the next steps they pursue.
As chairperson of the Opportunities for All Strategy group for East Renfrewshire Council and the Young Person’s Steering Group I am convinced that we require a raft of resources and opportunities that can be tailored to meet young people’s many and different needs. As such this application is entirely consistent with our strategic ambitions for young people. I can confirm that there is a need for this resource and that OYT Scotland is very well placed to deliver. I fully support this application.“

“OYT Scotland are one of the best organisations that I have worked with as a teacher. The programme they provide not only is a fantastic week’s worth of sailing but is a life changing opportunity for all concerned!“

“I’m ashamed it’s taken me so long to send this email. My son Sailed with you in August and is incredibly keen to go again and particularly interested in learning more about navigation. He didn’t want to go in the first place and was coerced by me (with some trepidation – these things can backfire – with egging on one of your bosuns).
Anyway he enjoyed himself beyond all expectations and has been going on about how good the crew were. Kudos to Skipper Pete and First Mate Laura and Watch Leaders Will & Alex. Especially compliments from my son on Will’s humour.
My son is only 15 just now (16 soon) and he’s keen to take further part in OYT Scotland sails and as said, in particular interested in navigation.
Thanks so very much – you guys are wonderful – my son is already nipping my head about the Easter sailing…“

“Please could you pass on to your team a big thank you for yet another fantastic sailing week. The team I brought this year had a fab time, it was a slightly different mix with some returners & some new from some very different backgrounds but they all managed to pull together to making new friends, having lots of fun & laughs, and surprising themselves with their achievements. We’ve yet to look at all the 522 photos I took but there are lots of smiling faces & sailing activity going on!
The sailing staff are a credit to you, they ensured the group had a fantastic week keeping them both entertained & learning. Davey & Alan were very good with the groups. Kerry & Peta ensured the voyage was a success for all & I very much appreciated the regular discussions between us about the voyage & the group, they were a great support to me & kept me well informed with the voyage aspect.“
