Only four days after leaving Brest Francis JOYON is recording 500 mile-a-day averages on his solo round the world record attempt.
Francis JOYON (FRA) and his IDEC trimaran have tripled their lead over the record-pace and are now theoretically 280 miles ahead of Ellen MACARTHUR's time.
Speaking yesterday JOYON commented,
"It's not going badly at all; I'm sailing in a bit of a disturbed trade wind, with some little squalls. The wind is north-east, between 18 and 25 knots, and the boat is slipping along at 22 knots."
