Aloha Wave Classic Championships
Paiia, Hawaii

Maui's up and coming wave sailing wahines are looking to grace the Aloha Classic Wave Championships and challenge some of the veterans of the Aloha and the Pro Tour.
With Angela COCHRAN, a four time past winner of the Aloha, coming out of retirement again to show these ladies that she still has it. Angela pulled out a huge win in 2000 after not sailing on the pro tour for almost 10 years. This years event has Angela pitting her skills against Maui's own Nori Hubbs-De CESARE, Tiffany WARD, Anik VIOLETTE, Fiona Van AMMERS and Morgan FISHER. One of the young guns this year is a very talented lady whose looking to join the pro tour, Tatiana HOWARD. The youngest of the women's competition in the line up is Maui local junior sailor, Paullina PEASE, who is competing in her first wave contest at Ho'okipa.

Looking to notch another win on her resume is Japans Mistook SATO, who won the sprint PWA Wave Pro, beating all the top lady pro sailors including Karin JAGI in the finals. She is accompanied by fellow sailor Junko NAGIYOSHI, also from Japan, who excels both in the racing and the waves and ill surely put up a strong fight against her.

The Aloha Classic is one of the longest-running wave sailing events in the orld. Since it's creation in 1984, the Aloha Classic has been the raditional final event of the Pro World tour. The top ranking international competitors are invited to the Aloha Classic along with top Hawaii athletes to compete side by side. The consistent trade winds and seasonally large surf make the Aloha Classic the most popular destination of the windsurfing media, spectators and athletes. The Aloha Classic is the crown-jewel of wave sailing events. The 2004 edition of the event is set to go off November 9 - 11, at Ho'okipa Beach Park, on Maui, Hawaii.
