The Danish Olympic Sailing Team is busy preparing for the Olympics in Athens 2004. Finn sailors are currently competing in the Finn Gold Cup in Brazil. The Laser and 49'er sailors are racing at the Athens Eurolymp Regatta whilst The 470 sailors are in Australia. Other classes are training in the Mediterranean area.

At the same time Danish Sailing Association has just announced their sponsorship partners for both Athens 2004 as well as the next four-year period until the Olympic Games in China in 2008.

Danish National Coach, Theis PALM is very satisfied. "We are right now very focussed on the preparation for Athens, and it is essential that we will be able to further strengthen our efforts with the team, especially with focus on the equipment. With two major Danish Companies backing our team financially this has great value for the Olympic Team, as it creates a great deal of trust on our sailors. We will also in the future be able to broaden the base for Olympic Sailing in Denmark and extend the support for our younger talented sailors and the Danish Youth Sailing Team."

HEMPEL is well known for many sailors all around the world as a Danish Company producing marine paintings for both leisure craft and big ships. Their focus is closely connected to the sea with interests within shipping, oil and gas industry, and lately also offshore windmills.

ELSAM, starting their sponsorship with the Olympic Sailors in 2002, is Denmark's largest producer of electricity and district heating. The company is now also engaged in wind energy and is running one of Europe's largest offshore wind farms outside the west coast of Denmark.
