Following the ISAF Annual Conference in Singapore, the venue for the inaugural RS:X World Championship next year has been named as Torbole, Italy. The Championship will take place from 20-30 September. The venues for the Continental Championships in 2006 and Worlds and Continentals in 2007 have also been identified.
Based on a criteria of wind data, past organizational experience, course location and the probability of a large attendance, the RS:X Management Committee decided in favour of the bid from the Italian Sailing Federation to host the 2006 Worlds in Torbole, Lake Garda.
The Fédération Française de Voile will host the European Championship next year in Almanarre, France from 7-16 June. The RS:X Asian Championship 2006 will take place in Neil Pryde's home base, Hong Kong from 25-31 October, following on from the success of the recent Hong Kong Windsurfing Championship held at Stanley Beach. Meanwhile, the RS:X South American Championship 2006 will take place in Patagonia, Argentina from 8-18 February.
