Postponements due to light winds hampered the scheduled start of racing today at Murrays Bay Sailing Club. Racing got underway in the early afternoon with three races completed today. The regatta continues over the weekend with the announcement of the New Zealand Youth Team for 2005 at Sunday's prize giving ceremony.

Blair McLAY is the stand-out in the 18-strong Laser Fleet with four wins recorded on the board in the five races to date. Today he finished the day on four points ahead of Matt COUTTS who is six points behind.

Olivia POWRIE has taken the top spot in the Laser Radial at the end of day two. She holds the lead by two points with her closest rival Jane MONK of Otago in second. Both girls have two race wins under their belt.

Peter BURLING and Bruce KENNEDY from Tauranga relished the light conditions today to stamp a four point lead over Chris DAWSON and Scott ILLINGWORTH in second place. The Tauranga pair has won four out of five races. One of the youngest competitors in the 420 fleet, BURLING is proving he is a talent of the future.

The girls' 420 group is lead by Georgina HILL and Michelle KENNEDY of Kohimarama.

In preliminary results the Australian board sailor Correy PLANT has now won four races and leads the boys' Mistral fleet. The top New Zealand performer and hoping for selection into the New Zealand Youth Team is Antonnio COZZOLINO. He sits three points behind PLANT on seven. The results of race five in the Mistral fleet are subject to a request for redress and positions may change.

Steffanie WILLIAMS of Kohimarama retains her place at the top of the girls' Mistral fleet.
