Tornado World Championship
Lake Garda, Italy

Greece's Iordanis Paschalidis and Kostas Trigonis are just one race away from defending their Tornado World Championship title in Lake Garda, Italy.
After the third day of racing was cancelled the fourth day brought beautiful sunshine and a building wind throughout the day and racing got going at 13:00 CET.

The famous Ora winds kicked in from the south with a southerly 10-12 knot breeze blowing across the race course for the opening race of the day. The Greeks came through to take their fifth bullet from six races to further extend their lead. They were followed by Roland and Nahid Gaebler who were consistent throughout the day with two second place finishes.

The wind picked up for race two with 18 - 20 knots blowing with the right hand side of the course being the best route as it always is in Lake Garda. The sailors who judged the upwind lay line best came out at the front of the fleet but others missed the lay line losing up to 20 places in the fleet.

Matteo Ferraglia and Lorenzo Bianchini (ITA) who are currently sitting in second place overall were unable to start the second race due to a boat breakage which they managed to fix this. Paschalidis and Trigonis came out with another bullet.

The Greeks are now only one race away from winning the World Championships for the second time in a row.

There is a big gap in the fleet after eighth place but with lots of individual battles making great racing for the whole fleet.
