Obituary

It is with great sadness ISAF reports that Jean LEMOINE (FRA), an ISAF International Judge and Committee member, passed away on 7 September aged 81.

At the age of 81 Jean was still an active sailor and keenly involved in the administration and officiating of the sport. He was an ISAF International Judge for well over 20 years, first being appointed back in 1980, and formerly an ISAF International Umpire.

He had been an active official within the Fédération Française de Voile for more than 50 years, was a member of the ISAF International Regulations Commission since the mid 1990s and was also part of the European Boating Association Council.

ISAF extends our sincere sympathy and condolences to Jean's family and friends.

Lithuania's Juozas Bernotas came out on top in the Men's RS:X whilst Russia's Stefania Elfutina was triumphant in the Women's RS:X. Both sailors claim the first Abu Dhabi ISAF Sailing World Cup Final spots whilst Jock Calvert (AUS) and Joanna Sterling (AUS) picked up the Oceanic spots for the Emirati finale.

A tight group of five young Papua New Guinean (PNG) Laser sailors are stepping up their 2015 Pacific Games competition program using this week's ISAF Sailing World Cup Melbourne. PNG is one of 33 countries represented at the important Oceanic event, the largest Olympic sailing regatta in the southern hemisphere.
