The Yacht of the Year Solune, the Nacira 60 owned by Frenchman Jean-Philippe CHOMETTE, was announced a month ago and the attached list now gives the full listings of all winners including the winners of the RORC Medallions for the IRC classes.

The winner of the Assuage Trophy Championship for RORC members for the yacht with the most RORC points in IRC overall in the Cherbourg Race, plus her best three races taken from Cervantes, St Malo, Morgan Cup and Myth of Malham Races was Exabyte III the IMX 45 owned by Shaul FRÖHLICH. She also won the Alan Paul Trophy for consistent high performance in IRC. Commenting on his wins, Shaun FRÖHLICH said: "I am extremely happy and proud to have won these Trophies as our 2004 season was a particularly busy one. We competed for the full RORC series offshore as well as plenty of inshore events including the Warsash Spring Series, Red Funnel Easter Regatta, The IRC Nationals, Cork Week and The Rolex Commodores Cup. This frenetic program placed enormous demands on the whole crew who worked incredibly hard from the first start to the last finish. All concerned can now be assured of some great celebration at the RORC Prizegiving on December 1st. I am also particularly grateful to RORC for running such a professional and well balanced race programme."

Winner of the Illingworth Cup, the Serendip Trophy for the best series-produced yacht in IRC and the Stradivarius Trophy for the best overseas yacht in the IRC was RORC Vice Commodore Chris BULL'S J145 Jazz. Having competed in many RORC races during the 2004 season, including winning Class 0 in both Round Ireland and Cascais races, Chris Bull has made a significant commitment to RORC racing which is reflected in the trophies he and his crew have won.

Of particular note amongst the prize winners is Mark BARTLETT, the winner of the Duncan Munro-Kerr Youth Challenge Trophy for the youngest crew member on board a yacht which on points finishes in the top three in her IRC class. This was awarded to Mark for his crewing on board the Farr 52 Bear of Britain. Currently a student at Southampton Institute, Mark has adjusted quickly from dinghies to big boats and joined the Skandia Yachting Academy in April. Since then he has become a regular crew on Bear of Britain, competing in the Commodore's Cup and Cowes Week and has been selected to race on the Maxi Skandia in all the Far East offshore races, culminating in the Sydney-Hobart.

All the trophies and medallions will be presented at the RORC Annual Dinner on Wednesday December 1st 2004 at the Drapers' Hall, Throgmorton Street, London EC2.
