Second overall are Gustavo Warburg, Hernan Celedoni and Maximo Smith from Argentina. After their disqualification on the second race on Monday they were back on form again yesterday. "The races today were difficult, our main sail sheet cable broke on the second windward of the sixth race, but at least we got second and third place today." said Warburg, who has twice before won the world championship.
It was the home sailors who stole the show with Brazilian teams winning both races of the day. Guilherme Roth, Carlos Trein and Roger Lamb claimed race five with Ernesto Neugebauer, Lucas Ostergren and Phillipp Grochtmann taking the bullet in race six. Celebrating with his crew, Roth said: "Being in front of three world champion crews was not easy. The race was hard disputed, but we managed to lead it. We want to be among the first five in thsi championship."
20 teams are competing in Brazil representing Brazil, Germany, Argentina, United States and United Kingdom.
