Strathfield Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Offshore Series
NSW

Today saw the running of the final race in the 22nd Strathfield Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Offshore Series for 2002-2003.

In placing eighth today, Heaven Can Wait owned by Warren Johns did enough to win the overall IRC Division. In the PHS Division, James Neill's The Cone of Silence won her third consecutive race today, to finish 1st overall ahead of a tightly bunched group.

This event has enjoyed superb conditions. Today was no exception. To top things off, northerly breezes are expected tomorrow, which will make for pleasurable conditions for the fleet's delivery trip back to Sydney.

Today's final race was conducted in a sunny light south-easterly breeze, where-by the start had to be delayed for the breeze to settle in and the course to be laid. Quite a few crew members were still recovering from the previous night's famous "Beer and Prawn night" held at the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club.

In today's IRC Division the Sydney 38, The Business, owned by Grand Halliday and Jeff Matthes came in 1st place. 2nd was Tow Truck from Lake Macquarie owned by Anthony Paterson with Howard Piggott's True North coming in 3rd. In the PHS Division, The Cone of Silence was followed by Gary Bremner's Enticer and then Fireball owned by Gary Saunders.

Tonight will see the Regatta Presentation, and yet another opportunity for the crews to let their hair down in Coffs Harbour.

Superb conditions, race - records and Hollywood movie stars all contributed to the enormous profile this year's event achieved. The future of this event has never been brighter. Planning of the 23rd Strathfield Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Offshore Series 2003-2004 is already well underway.
