Wind conditions prevented any races from starting on the first day of the event, Friday 15 July, leaving the fleets impatiently waiting for day two. They finally got on the water by the afternoon of day two, whilst condition on day three meant only one race could be completed.
In total six races were completed across the fleets with the exception of the 420s and Optimists who both completed five. Hungarian sailors won in four of the seven fleets with Péter and Gábor OROSZLÁN taking four bullets on their way to victory in the 470, Gazston PÁL and Zsombor BERECZ finishing with a perfect five points in the Finn and the Laser respectively and Botond MARGITICS claiming the title in the Optimist.
Zdeněk CHLUP (CZE) won a closely fought battle in the Laser Radial, whilst Katka ŠMÍDOVÁ (CZE) dominated in the Europe. The Slovak Republic's single fleet win came in the 420 courtesy of Milan PUCHOŇ and Lukáš PUCHOŇ.
The Czech Republic took victory as the best team in the Olympic Hopes Regatta ahead of the Slovak Republic and Hungary.
