Create a channel trailer

You can curate an overview or trailer of your channel's content to auto-play for first-time visitors. This lets viewers know what your channel's all about so they can subscribe.

Step 1: Turn on browse view
  1. Log in to your YouTube account and go to your channel.
  2. Hover over the channel's name, then click the edit icon > Edit channel navigation.
  3. Next to Browse, select Enable.
  4. Select Save.
Step 2: Create & configure your channel trailer

Once you've turned on a default view for unsubscribed visitors to your channel, you can create a channel trailer for them to watch. This is a featured video that auto-plays for unsubscribed viewers.

  1. Create the trailer video. Get tips on making it Creator Academy.
  2. When you're logged in to your YouTube account, follow these instructions to upload your channel trailer. Make sure to set the video as "public."
  3. Go to your YouTube channel and select Home > For new visitors.
  4. Select Channel trailer and select the video or enter its URL.
  5. When you're ready, select Done.
To remove the trailer: Hover over the channel trailer section of your page and click the edit icon. Select Remove Trailer.
