A brilliantly polished app
Slingshot is an amazing personal photo and video sharing app. Despite what a lot of people say about it being Facebook's version if snapchat, I would disagree. Not only is the UI of slingshot cleaner and more interactive, the app itself offers more opportunities for social interaction than any other comparable app. By keeping things simple and doing away with direct messaging other than in the format of reaction threads, Slingshot allows users to engage with one another. Through this app I have managed to make a bunch of new friends and learn about places and cultures that I would never have experienced. I give Slingshot five stars and I greatly recommend it to anyone that is looking for new social experiences.
Mixed feelings
I have revised my review after more app use. It still feels like a strange dating app since the slings you send are to strangers. There is no way to gate your content and I got my first troll. I realized that the troll risk will continue to be high if you are female and not a supermodel. There are many nice people on there so I would stay if I had thicker skin! But I hated high school the first time around and I don't feel like going back.
It's almost perfect
I generally love the app: I get to meet people and see places all around the world. My BIGGEST problem with it? Dick pics. There NEEDS to be an easy way to block and report people. Even more so when you speak different languages and not all people understand "stop sending me dick pics." I'm pretty sure a teenybopper sent me one....uhhh, NOT OKAY!!!
