Working toward this moment with training camps in native Iran and Spain, Ahmadi is looking to make history for his home land, "I had good training so I am looking positive to do my best performance and represent my great country in the next Olympic Games in Brazil and to be the first one who did it in the history of my country and my federation," said Ahmadi.

Working towards Rio 2016, it was actually a previous Olympics, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, which was held in Qingdao that inspired him. "I've seen this place in the Olympic Games on the videos and I thought 'O really, can I go there one day and see this place and the venue and this stuff from close, and one of my dreams come true.

"The venue makes me more motivated to do my best in the water."

Ahmadi will need that motivation as he is up against stiff competition to make his dream a reality, but even if that doesn't happen, Ahmadi is confident sailing in Iran is heading in the right direction, "We are going to hear good news in the future about sailing in Iran, in the World, on podiums and this stuff for sure."

ISAF Sailing World Cup
The ISAF Sailing World Cup is a world-class annual series for Olympic sailing. It is open to the sailing events chosen for the 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition. Its centre piece is the ISAF Sailing World Cup Final in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup will consist of five regattas for all ten Olympic events and where possible, Formula Kite Racing. Qualification places for the ISAF Sailing World Cup final are up for grabs at each event. The final will bring together the top 20 boats in each Olympic event and an Open Kiteboarding event where the World Cup Champions will be crowned
