Food and Drink at the Finish

Upon arrival in Plymouth, having finished the Rolex Fastnet Race, the first thing on many competitors' minds is a hearty meal and drink. Both in the Barbican and on the Peninsula are restaurants, bars and pubs that can cater for whatever is called for, be it a steak, curry or fish and chips!

This year, the Royal Ocean Racing Club has increased the emphasis on providing a fantastic shoreside experience in Plymouth, with it's very own catering marquee in the Race Village, next to the Lanson Champagne Bar, offering fantastic bacon baguettes, BLT’s and Deli boards.  Meanwhile at the Mount Batten Centre, adjacent to the shower block, the Crew Bar now includes a Gourmet Burger Grill, as well as full 24 hour catering in the Ocean Room where you can enjoy all day breakfasts,  curries and salads.

In addition, The Barbican and Mount Batten Peninsular also offers a great range of restaurants, pubs and bars and further afield, the Royal William Yard offers super high end restaurants.

Race Village

The Race Village, situated at the Plymouth Yacht Haven, will have food and drink available to cater for all competitors whatever time they arrive, day and night. We have a full time caterer working for us at the village and two very well stocked bars:  The Lanson Bar and the Crew Bar, both with food service.

Central Plymouth

The Barbican is the primary area for getting a great meal, with many bars, restaurants and pubs to choose from. More comprehensive lists can be found here or here. To travel to the Barbican, hope on one of the Mount Batten water taxis. They are operated by Sound Cruising Ltd and offer a regular daily service between Mount Batten and the historic Barbican.  During the Rolex Fastnet event, from Wednesday midday until Saturday midday the ferry will be run 24 hours per day, with thanks to Plymouth City Council and the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership.  Competitors wearing wristbands will not be charged to travel on the ferry during this time. For further details please see the Travel and Transport page.
