Connect To Sailing
Singapore

During the ISAF Annual Conference in Singapore this November, the Connect to Sailing global initiative will host two seminars, presenting the fundamentals of the project and illustrating some its current programmes.
Connect to Sailing was set up by ISAF to increase participation in grass roots sailing with a particular focus on youth. It aims to build strong and lasting foundations for community sailing programmes and expand and develop participation in sailing by attracting newcomers to the sport.

The Connect to Sailing Website was launched in June this year as part of the ongoing project. On 7-8 November the Connect to Sailing Seminars will take place from 0800-1000 hours local time during the ISAF Annual Conference.

On 7 November a presentation on the Connect to Sailing Project will explain the strategy and targets of the programme, the role of the MNA, the Task Force Programme and Blue Print and the progress on initiatives to date. The presentation will be hosted by Connect to Sailing Project Manager Tim COVENTRY (GBR).

On the following day the seminar will start with Axel GRAEL (BRA) giving a talk on the Grael Project, a cost-free learn to sail programme for children from low income families in Brazil. This will be followed by a talk on setting up Connect to Sailing National Task Forces and then a final Q&A session.

Those interested in attending the Seminars should contact the Connect to Sailing Team at connecttosailing@isaf.co.uk.
