Canada Takes Top Honours

Chris COOK (CAN) took top honours after eight races, in the Finn class, while John ROMANKO (CAN) took second. The bronze medal went to Geoff EWENSON (USA).

The 49er fleet sailed ten races and the gold medal went to Canadians Dan CUNNINGHAM and Rob PATERSON. Matthieu DUBREUCQ and Geoff GALES (CAN) took the silver medal while Billy GOODERHAM and Louis-Philippe BOUGE-BASTIEN (CAN) placed third to take home bronze medal honours giving Canada three top place finishes.

After seven races in the Flying Dutchman the gold medal went to Lin ROBSON and Doug HAMILTON (USA), with Tim SAYLES and Pavel RUZICKA (USA) second and Jonathan GORBOLD and Anna GORBOLD (GBR) third.

The Fireball class ran nine races and top honours went to Canadians Robert LEVY and Stephen WALDIE. After seven races in the Contender Class gold medal honours went to Neil SMITH (USA), whilst in Sunday's racing for the Formula Boards after six races victory went to Ron KERN (USA).

Roll On The Youth Worlds

Kingston is known for its great winds and fresh water and for the many volunteers who run CORK each year. This year's regatta was a huge success as over 1,000 sailors came to Kingston to participated in CORK'06. CORK organizers are now turning their attention to the 2007 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship scheduled for July and for CORK to be held in August 2007.
