Yngling World Championship
Sydney

Consistent sailing throughout the Yngling World Championship, held at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron on Sydney Harbour, could very well see the YZ Racing Team of Nicky BETHWAITE (AUS), Kristen KOSMALA and Karen GOJNICH secure top points in the fourth and
With one race left to contest, Bethwaite and crew have secured a large enough lead to be near unbeatable on the point score.

Coming into the regatta Bethwaite had earned more points on the Australian Olympic nomination point score, but with Melanie DENNISON (AUS) and crew only a few points behind, Bethwaite and crew had to sail consistently well.

Day three racing at the Yngling Open World Championship was sailed in a shifty south-easterly from 10-12 knots. In the three races of the day the YZ Racing Team finished with a 2nd, 14th and 6th, while Dennison and crew tallied an 18th, 7th and 13th.

Bethwaite, Kosmala and Gojnich are currently the highest placed all women's crew and sit second overall, just nine points behind leader Neville WITTEY and crew.

"Nicky and crew sailed well throughout the championship. They produced consistent results which paid off," coach Dayne SHARP said.

The final race at the Yngling World Championship will commence at 11:00am tomorrow. Bethwaite will be looking for a good performance to secure her lead in the women's fleet.
