Timberland Euro Prix

W L Gore & Associates (UK) Limited, makers of durably waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX(r) fabrics, today (8 January) announces its support of Timberland Euro Prix 2004 by becoming technical fabric supplier to the event.
The event provides the perfect environment for Gore to demonstrate the advanced capabilities of its technical textiles that have been specifically developed for marine use.

The rigorous racing programme, mixing in-shore and off-shore sailing in a range of conditions, from the Mediterranean to the chill North Sea, will place huge demands on crews and their equipment, especially clothing.

Gore is delighted that Timberland Euro Prix has chosen to equip competitors with garments made from its GORE-TEX(r) OCEAN TECHNOLOGY(r) fabrics, ensuring they remain warm, dry and comfortable no matter what weather conditions they encounter.

Gore's Craig TORRIE said: "The Timberland Euro Prix will be a high-profile event that will give us the ability to show the world just how good our products are. Through the extensive television coverage, people will be able to see for themselves the punishing conditions encountered in off-shore racing and the extreme exertions required for success in in-shore racing and just how well GORE-TEX(r) fabrics stand up to the demands. We believe this pan-European race series is innovative and challenging, perfectly matching Gore's own brand image of providing a gateway to adventure."

Event Director and Managing Director of Fast Track Events, Edward LEASK, commented, "Ensuring that the crew can perform at their optimum by keeping them warm and dry during the offshore legs was our prime concern when we approached Gore to get involved with the event. We are delighted that they could see the merit of the event and look forward to working with them."
