Strathfield Pittwater and Coffs Series
Pittwater

Launched in July 2003, Stephen DAVID'S Swan 45 Joe signalled she would be a significant force on the IRC racetrack with a convincing series win in the 2003 Hogs Breath race week.
After winning the Boss Hog trophy she was second behind Wild Oats at Hahn Premium Race Week.

Today she won the prestigious Strathfield Pittwater and Coffs series from the largest IRC fleet to have raced in the southern hemisphere.

With a stellar crew including steerer Chris LINKS, Michael COXON, navigator Adrienne CAHALAN, Darren 'Twirler' JONES and David 'High Tower' SAMPSON, owner Steven DAVID explained "The boat is proving to be a real gem and the guys were awesome.'"

The 35-year-old businessman from Sydney is looking seriously at an international campaign for 'Joe' named after David's late grandfather, and it's clear he has the boat and the crew for some world-class performances.

Joe won both IRC overall and Division One. Second boat in Division One was Richard Hudson's Pretty Woman with Rod WILL'S X43 Great Xpectations third.

Second in the series and first in Division Three was Bill Ebsary's Beneteau 40.7 Le Billet, her excellent performance in the 224 nm long race showing that Ebsary and his crew certainly know how the keep the 'Beach Ball Bouncing up the Beach.'

In third place in the series and second in Division Three was Jim King and Bruce Staples Dark and Stormy Witch, following yesterday's win with a fine second overall today.

In a tight fought series battle Grant HALLIDAY and Jeff MATTHES The Business, outsailed their Sydney 38 rivals to win the Sydney 38, IRC Division Two from Geoff Payne's Risk, with Eye Candy third.
