2004 Tornado North American Championship
Miami, Florida

The 2004 North American Tornado Championship took place in Crandon Park, Miami, Florida and concluded yesterday. Seven races were completed, allowing the competitors one discard.
Roman HAGARA and Hans Peter STEINACHER (AUT) proved to be in top form as they took the overall win at the 2004 North American Championship. The Austrians lead from the first day and never finished lower than third in a very competitive fleet of 27 boats from 12 countries.

The line up included many of the top names in Tornado sailing and it was the 2000 Olympic gold medallists from Austria who took the victory.

The USA team of John LOVELL and Charlie OGLETREE finished seven points behind Hagara/Steinacher, taking second place overall. Lovell and Ogletree also captured the North American Champions title as the first North American boat.

Third place overall went to Olivier BACKES and Laurent VOIRON (FRA).
