After a brutal battle ASSA ABLOY were the eleventh hour victors of Leg 5. illbruck managed to cling on to second place leaving third place to Tyco.
Team SEB claimed fourth leaving News Corp in fifth on Leg 5 and overall. Grant Dalton's Amer Sports One crew finally dragged themselves across the finish line for sixth. Bill Biewenga says spare a thought for djuice and Amer Sports Too who are not due to finish until Friday morning.

In the last six hours Djuice Dragons have managed to maintain their slim five mile lead on Amer Sports Too. The very light winds are making progress painfully slow for the two remaining yachts at sea in this the fifth leg of the Volvo Ocean Race. The wind is only averaging three knots from the east.

At 04:00h this morning djuice had 86 miles to go to reach the finish in Miami, and Amer Sports Too had 91 miles to go.
