The Kingston waters have played host to some of the most revered names in the sailing world, with Jochen SCHUEMANN (GER) winning the first of his three Olympic gold medals at the 1976 Olympic Sailing Competition. Also stepping onto the Olympic podium in Kingston were John BERTRAND (AUS) and Dennis CONNER (USA), who would go on to contest the legendary 1983 America's Cup Match.
Over the years the Youth Worlds has also proved itself a breeding ground for future stars of the sport, with the list of previous champions including the likes of Robert SCHEIDT (BRA) and Russell COUTTS (NZL), and more recently, Siren SUNDBY (NOR) and Paige RAILEY (USA).
In ISAF's Centenary year, the 37th Youth Worlds will take on a further dimension in 2007. As ISAF's longest running event, the Youth Worlds will play a key part in the celebrations of ISAF's 100 year anniversary.
For nations wishing to enter the 2007 ISAF Youth Worlds, the clock is ticking down to the entry deadline of 15 April 2007. More details on how to enter can be found on the Championship website www.youthworlds2007.org or by CLICKING HERE.
