The Medical Committee of the International Foundation for Disabled Sailing (IFDS) is holding a seminar on the Functional Classification System 2005 (FCS 2005) from the 28-30 August, during the 2005 IFDS Disabled Sailing World Championship in Sønderborg, Denmark.
The objective of the Seminar is to train participants to be qualified to classify sailors at National Events. Under section 4.1 of the FCS 2005, IFDS requires that all IFDS Recognized National Authorities (RNA) have a Chief National Classifier and this Seminar provides the opportunity to train individuals for this role.

The IFDS Medical Committee suggest that the Chief National Classifier candidate have a medical background, such as a doctor or physiotherapist and should have a working medical knowledge of the neuromusculoskeletal system and functionality of sailing. Participants who have an interest in classification are also welcome to attend this seminar.

The seminar will take place at the beginning of the 2005 IFDS Disabled Sailing World Championship for Single-Person and Three-Person Keelboats in Sønderborg, Denmark from 29 August-5 September 2005.

Further information on the Seminar can be found on the ISAF Disabled Sailing microsite.
