Anis Elmjid grew up in the fishing town of Kelibia, north east Tunisia, and has obviously been strongly influenced by his upbringing next to the sea.
He started sailing aged 13, likes to windsurf for relaxation and wants to be a professional sailing instructor when he leaves school.
His father encouraged him in the sport and his first competition at national level was in 2009. This is his second competition in the Byte Class.
Elmjid normally sails an Optimist and qualified for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Algeria.
The 15-year-old attends the local secondary school in Kelibia and sails for Club Kelibia.
He is coached by Arbi Haddad. This is their first year together.
