After successfully qualifying sailors in six events at the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, the Croatian sailing team have named their athletes for the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition.
Bronze medallists at Perth in the Men's 470, Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic, will sail at their second Olympic Games following a ninth place finish at Beijing 2008. With impressive displays throughout the 2010-2011 ISAF Sailing World Cup and a bronze medal at the ISAF Worlds the pair will be looking for a podium finish.

Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic will compete in the Finn for his second consecutive Olympic Games. The current World #3 came eighth in Beijing and recently finished tenth at the ISAF Worlds.

Tonci Stipanovi?, Laser, and Tina Mihelic, Laser Radial, will both sail at their first Olympic Games after missing out on selection for Beijing 2008.

49er sailors Pavle Kostov and Petar Cupac will be competing at their second Olympic Games following their 17th place finish in Beijing. And Luka Mratovic takes the Men's RS:X place.

Marko Misura, Croatian Sailing Sports Director said, "Our main target for London is to win the first ever Croatian sailing medal. Our team preparations in the build up to London will involve our usual annual activities including different kinds of training and preparations.

"We will also take part at Sailing World Cup Regattas, Class and European Championships with a special focus on training camps in Weymouth."
