The Irish Sports Council has expressed its confidence in the management of the ISA in the most tangible way - by increasing the annual grant allocation.
The core administration grant has been lifted by 15% to €175,656. This will underpin the delivery of existing member services and give some scope for expansion. The ISA has also been successful in being awarded funds for specific programmes.

In awarding the grant the Irish Sports Council acknowledged that 'the ISA continues to set the standard in terms of organisational development and effective implementation of strategic priorities'.

The announcement of the Grant Allocation did not include funding allocated to High Performance programmes. The ISA has been identified by the Sports Council as a 'Focus Sport' and Olympic and Academy funding will be announced in the next few weeks. The ISA is confident that the programmes devised by Olympic Manager Garrett Connolly in association with Racing Manager Dave Quinn and Youth Performance Manager Bill O'Hara will be fully supported by the Council under this new initiative.

ISA President John CREBBIN welcomed the news, saying that the ISA Board was fully committed to developing the sport in accordance with the strategic plan approved by the members. He described the increase in funding as an overwhelming vote of confidence in the policies and management of the Association and he paid tribute to the work of the Directors and Staff of the ISA.
