Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship 2005
Busan, Korea

Following its trials series the Olympic Steering Group has selected the Irish Sailing Association's (ISA) team for this summer's Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship in Busan, Korea.
There has been an Irish team at all but six of the ISAF Youth World Championships since the inaugural event held in Angelholm, Sweden in 1971. Their single medal came in 1996 at Newport, USA, when Laura DILLON and Ciara PEELO won the bronze in the Laser II.

The Irish team for 2005 will be hoping to add to their medal tally at this year's Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship, being held from the 14-23 July. The team will be entering athletes in three fleets, the Laser Standard, the Laser Radial and the 420 boys.

The Irish team:

Single-handed dinghy boys - Laser Standard
Conor BYRNE

Single-handed dinghy girls - Laser Radial
Kylie MCMILLAN

Double-handed dinghy boys - 420
Kenneth RUMBALL and David MORAN

The team will be led by James O'CALLAGHAN, ISA's Olympic Coach supported by Mark PLUMMER as 420 coach.
