After excellent racing conditions yesterday we are still waiting for the wind to fill in. The AP flag has been up since this morning so all sailors are still on the beach.
The hours are filled with lots of socialising and regularly looking to the sky for wind. The jury started with the hearing of some delayed protests of yesterday. Organisation is busy decorating the tent for the official visit of the Royal Dutch Prince Saturday morning.

In the Tiger class leading with 4 first places and two second places are Mischa Heemskerk/Pieter van Ruitenburg form the Netherlands. Hobie and Tornado sailor Mischa Heemskerk is winner of the Biggest Cat Race in the World "Round Texel 2002 ". The 3 races of Wednesday were sailed with wind 3-4 bft. 43 Tigers were lined up for starting; the length of the start line was good for finding clear wind, but the strong current made it hard to keep position. The I flag was used on every start, which gave sailors not much room to change choosen starting line position. Gerard Loos from the Netherlands, defending Tiger European champion, is in 5th place now.

Team Hahn, Ulf;Seppelt, Susanne (GER) are in second place with 3,2,2,10 and a 1st place; Brouwer, Paul;Boer, Sander de (NED) still going strong on a 3rd place with 7,4,3,3,3 and a OCS.

In the Hobie 16 Gold fleet the competition is very strong. Many good sailors got BFD's and for those that are in the top 10 it will be very hard to beat the number one of this moment 2 times European Champion Griesmeyer, Stefan;Bisio, Monica from Italy. They have 12 points after 6 races followed by the team from Germany (25 points) Backes, Georg; Monreal, Simone and in third place the young New Caledonian team (22 and 20 years) Renaud, Christophe;Rossollin, Alban; (46 points).

The winners of the Hobie 16 Youth, Hauke Bockelmann; Lauritz Bockelmann (GER) that won a Gold Fleet spot are in 41st position with 172 points after 6 races. They are the only youth in the Gold Fleet. The winners of the Hobie 16 Women, Ellen Forshaw, Martine Landman (GBR) who also won a Gold Fleet spot are in 49th place with 199 points followed by another women team Houdet, Djamina;Gac, Laureana le (FRA) with 207 points

In the Hobie 16 Silver fleet the positions are very close. After 6 races the in first position is Karner, Gerald;Buttinger, Katharina (AUT) with 22 points, second is team Hoff, Siegfried;Lagemann, Catharina (GER) with 23 points and in third position team Jansen, Knud;Schoene, Kerrin (GER) with 29 points.

In the Hobie 14 class leading are Schmidt, Burkhard from Germany and in the FX-one class Mitch Booth is going strong in first position.
