Europe Class Open Week

There was a lack of wind for the Europe Class Open Week. Everyone will be praying for better conditions for the World Championships that start on Sunday.

The Europe Class Open week was held from the 26th to 29th July in Vilamoura, Portugal. 270 boats competed in the event, in two fleets, male and female. The Europe class is the Olympic single-handed class for women. 140 boats competed in the open week as a warm up to the World Championships. Unfortunately the breeze failed to materialise and by the last day there wasn't enough wind to start a race in, so only four races were sailed. The event was won by Morten Ulrikkeholm from Denmark in the men, and current World number one, Sari Multala from Finland in the women.
