Holmberg, skipper of Sweden's Victory Challenge syndicate for the 2003 America's Cup, is peering over his shoulder at a familiar site on the ISAF rankings, Oracle Racing's Peter Holmberg, who is just seven points behind the Swedish skipper on the Swedish Match Tour Leaderboard.

Peter Holmberg used his win at the recent Colorcraft Gold Cup to move up the ISAF rankings two positions to his present number two spot. Prada Challenge's Gavin Brady also saw his world ranking rise, moving up three spots to number 17. Brady was a tough luck loser at the recent Colorcraft Gold Cup, posting his fourth runner-up finish on the Swedish Match Tour.

Magnus Holmberg's Victory Challenge teammate Jesper Bank, part of a fourth place logjam on the Swedish Match Tour Leaderboard, saw his world ranking drop from 10 to 23. Most recently, Bank was runner-up to Magnus Holmberg at the 2001 Danish Open in August. Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker moved back into the top 10 while Denmark's Jes Gram-Hansen, skipper of Team Marienlyst, moved up one spot to number seven and illbruck Challenge's Morten Henriksen dropped six places to 21.

American Ed Baird of Team XL Capital, currently occupying the eighth and final spot on the Swedish Match Tour Leaderboard, saw his world ranking jump eight spots to number 18 following his third place finish at the Colorcraft Gold Cup.

Among skippers regularly competing on the Swedish Match Tour but not currently on the leaderboard, One World Challenge's Peter Gilmour and James Spithill occupy places three and four, respectively in the ISAF rankings. Also, Denmark's Jesper Radich of Team Steff Houlborg and Team New Zealand's Bertrand Pace each moved up one spot to sixth and seventh, respectively, while Andy Green of the GBR Challenge saw his world ranking drop from 17 to 34.

The next event on the Swedish Match Tour is the Sun Microsystem's Australia Cup, March 12-17, in Perth, Australia.
