Hobie Tiger World Championships

Sonino/Bruni (ITA) won the Hobie Tiger World Championships that concluded in Torbole, Lake Garda, Italy on Saturday.
Day 4 - FINAL day of the 2nd Hobie Tiger World Championship. Winds 15 - 20 knots - GREAT final series - the Race Committee was able to stage 3 races for a total of 13 World Championship races (including a long distance race) in 4 days.

Racing included SERIOUS tactics as the Hobie sailors vied for the absolute best position to cover, hold or gain for their final standings.

Once again, GREAT sailing, HUGE fleet, the sheer JOY and delight of one design competition, made this particular World Championship very special for the competitors.

"Let's do it again" is often overheard from sailors after hitting the beach. At a classic "sit down" Italian dinner last evening at CVT, the sailors were notified of the NEXT Tiger World Championship in Singapore and over 41 sailors have paid their registration fee in the last 24 hours for the World Championship scheduled some 2 years from now in 2003.

With 13 races after 4 GREAT days of racing - including a distance race the Hobie sailors have a lot of good things to say about this fantastic venue in Northern Italy.
